Μία κατάσταση που δεν βελτιώθηκε από πέρυσι είναι η κατάσταση της Ελλάδος. Η πολιτική της λιτότητας που επιβλήθηκε από την ΕΕ είναι στην κυριολεξία δολοφονική. Φέτος πληροφορηθήκαμε για την απαράδεκτη συμπεριφορά σεξουαλικής εκμετάλλευσης από ορισμένους υπαλλήλους της OXFAM, η οποία έχει γίνει μια μεγάλη διεθνή οργάνωση και χρηματοδοτείται τόσον από την ΕΕ όσον και από την κυβέρνηση του Η. Βασιλείου. Η οργάνωση αυτή ιδρύθηκε με το όνομα Επιτροπή της Οξφόρδης για την Ανακούφιση από την Πείνα. Συστάθηκε από ιδιώτες στην εκκλησία της Αγίας Μαρίας στην Οξφόρδη το 1942 για την ανακούφιση της πείνας στην Ελλάδα που ήταν τότε κάτω από την ναζιστική κατοχή. Η παρούσα κατάσταση δεν είναι λιγότερο χειρότερη. Αλλά δεν ακούμε τίποτα ούτε από το BBC ούτε από τον εγχώριο τύπο.

Σε ένα πρόσφατο συνέδριο για τον Τύπο, η σύζυγος μου Έλλεν, έγινε έξω φρενών με τον τρόπον με τον οποίον παρουσιαστές του BBC δεν έδιναν σημασία για τις ανησυχίες που εξέφραζε για την Ελλάδα. Ο Πρέσβης Λεωνίδας Χρυσανθόπουλος,που μίλησε πέρυσι στο Συνέδριο της Πρωτοβουλίας για μια Ανεξάρτητη Βρετανία, μου έστειλε την ακόλουθη αναφορά που μας υπενθυμίζει το κακό στην ευρωπαϊκή πολική που καταπολεμούμε και που μας οδηγεί στην φιλανθρωπία.

THE SUFFERING OF GREECE

One situation which has not improved since last year is the state of the Greek nation. The policy of austerity, enforced by the EU, is actually murderous. This year we have heard of the appalling sexually abusive behaviour of some people employed by OXFAM which has become a very large international organisation, drawing funds from the EU and the British government. As the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, it was founded by private individuals in St Mary's Church Oxford in 1942 for the relief of famine in Greece, then under Nazi occupation. The present situation there is hardly less horrific. Yet we hear little nothing of it on the BBC or national press..

At a recent media conference, my wife Ellen was most distressed by the offhand way prominent BBC broadcasters dismissed her concerns about Greece. Ambassador Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos, who addressed the Campaign for an Independent Britain rally last year, sent me this despatch which reminds us of the evil in the European polity which we are fighting and should move us to charity.

GREECE 2018

As the people of Greece enter an eighth year of austerity, the disastrous effects become even more apparent. The death rate has increased to such an extent that the authorities have ceased, starting from January, to publish the monthly statistics of births and deaths. The number of deaths in 2017 was 123,700, in 2016 118,623 and in 2013 it was 70,830. The average number of deaths before the crisis was about 60,000 yearly. The reasons of course are the austerity measures that have dissolved the National Health system, poverty, hunger, insufficient heating, increased suicides etc. The EU and the IMF are exercising pressure on the Athens regime to increase the rate of auctioning property belonging to people, who no longer are able to pay their mortgages because of reduction of salaries, pensions and an increase of direct and indirect taxation. Electronic auctioning has now started thus preventing activists from stopping physical auctions. About 5 million taxpayers can no longer pay taxes because they lack the funds and the state can now auction properties for debts over 500 euros.

On top of that, events are taking place in the field of foreign affairs that are creating further consternation to the people of Greece. The regime, under pressure from the US, is negotiating an agreement with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on the name issue, that would allow Greece to lift its veto so that FYROM can join NATO. In the solution that is anticipates, the use of the word Macedonia is foreseen in a composite name in the Slavic language. Gorna Macedonya or North Macedonia is the proposal that is floating around which is unacceptable to the majority of the people of Greece as was witnessed by the mass demonstrations that took place in Thessaloniki and Athens. Over 2 million people attended both demonstrations that were also a reaction to the austerity measures.

The Macedonian issue is a subject for a separate article . However it should be stated here that it is wrong to give a country a false history, a history that most of its inhabitants know to be false since it morally undermines the spirit of its inhabitants and creates conditions that could result in a failed state. And why should FYROM join NATO to begin with? Who is the enemy? What is the threat? And one must not forget the violation by the West of the Gorbachev -Bush Agreements, when the former agreed to the unification of Germany under the condition that NATO would not be expanded, as promise given by Germany, the USA, France and the UK at the highest level.

Greece has also to face aggressive Turkey that is threatening her territorial integrity in the Aegean and Thrace, violating on a daily basis her air space while sending the Turkish navy, as modern day pirates, to block an Italian oil rig that would start drilling for oil and gas in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus. Of course, one must not forget the ongoing genocide of the Kurds of Syria by the Turkish Armed Forces while the international community whistles indifferently.

These are the important issues that the people of Greece have to face this year. With a quisling regime, the task is almost impossible . It is time that the citizens of Greece take the situation into their own hands and find effective solutions to the issues threatening the sovereignty of Greece.
